Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must:

1. Nationality: All nationalities acceptable except for Chinese citizens.
2. Academic Background & Age:
   • Undergraduate: High School Gen; < 25.
   • Master’s: Bachelor’s; under 35.
   • PhD: Second cycle higher education; less than 40 years.
3. Academic Excellence: Robust academic record and research potential.
4. Language Proficiency:
   • Programs Partially or Fully Taught in Chinese: HSK 4 (210+ for undergraduate), HSK 5 (180+ for master’s level), HSK 6 (180+ for PhD).
   • English-Taught Programs: IELTS 6.0+, TOEFL 80+, or evidence of education in English (e.g., degree from an English-speaking institution).
5. Other scholarship(s): Recipients must not hold another scholarship funded by the Chinese government.

1. Submission: All documents must be submitted electronically through the SDU Online Application System.
2. Required Documents:
   • Application form for the scholarship (completed, signed, and scanned).
   • Diplomas and academic transcripts, language certificates.
   • Photo ID, study plan, recommendation letters, and other program-specific materials.
